Shawnee Out of the Darkness Walk

Be part of history at Pottawatomie County's first ever Community Out of the Darkness Walk.

Pogo is proud to partner with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - Oklahoma Chapter to bring their signature Out of the Darkness Community Walk to Shawnee for the first time — and we want you there with us.

Maybe you're walking in memory of someone you lost. Maybe you're walking for someone still fighting. Maybe you're walking because you believe every life in our county is worth saving. Whatever brings you out, there's a community here ready to walk beside you. Together, we'll raise awareness, honor the people we've lost, stand with survivors, and remind each other that hope is real and help is here.

Event Schedule

• 10:00 a.m. — Check-in opens, resource fair, and activities

• 11:30 a.m. — Opening ceremony and remembrance for those we've lost

• Right after the ceremony — The walk begins

This walk is more than a walk. It's a chance to connect with people who care, find local mental health resources, and be part of changing how our community talks about mental health and suicide prevention. Every dollar raised goes toward suicide prevention education, advocacy, and lifesaving programs right here in Oklahoma.

Come alone, with family, with friends, with coworkers, or as a team. Together, we can show Pottawatomie County that no one has to struggle alone, and that every life is worth saving.
