Back in November Pogo and AARP hosted a Public Engagement Listening Session to give our community the opportunity to learn from International Livability Expert and 8 80 Cities Founder, Gil Penalosa. The mission of 8 80 Cities is to ignite action and challenge the status quo to create healthier, more equitable, and sustainable cities for all people from 8 years old to 80. Penalosa shared his insights from contributing to the building and reconstructing of over 200 parks and consulting with 70 different cities. After he shared some insights from his travels the community was asked to provide feedback for opportunities for improvement across our community. Below are the notes from that session. The topics of discussion were, Engaging with Your Neighbor, Economic Growth, Programming, Built Environment, and 8 80 Cities.
